Part of my work for Liverpool Noise is to make unique fresh portraits of the artists highlighted on their online magazine.
The gamut of the cultures and skills involved in the various articles is broad thus the approach needed and locations used vary each time, which helps me gain experience and knowledge.

This time round I met Ali, who describes himself as a “poet, artist, writer and teacher. But not always in that order”. So wonderful to chat with him and hear about these varied work/roles. Ali hosts, and talks part in, The Liver Bards Poetry Night at Ma Boyles once a month so if you fancy an eclectic mix from these open mic nights come along..
We covered a lot of ground on our photo shoot, from the code outside Liverpool’s central library ending up in Ma Boyles itself. Lovely to work with Ali on this one as he had loads of great ideas for shots, some of which can be seen below:
