I think we all accept that there are a lot of handbag reviews on YouTube!
What I don’t see a lot of though is how bags have performed after a few years of use. I bought a classic oxblood 15 inch Cambridge satchel about 4 years ago and in my latest vlog I show you how it has worn over the years and how I have kept it looking good.
I had my initials embossed onto the bag and I’m really pleased that I had this done as it really adds a personal touch. Cambridge often offers this for free at certain times of year.

One of the key things I have done is to waterproof the satchel. I waterproof all of my leather bags and I find that this really helps them last, especially surviving the worst of the English weather! I was recommended the waterproofer that Mulberry uses for their bags. Its called Collonil and its really affordable. I picked mine up from eBay but there are plenty of other stockists. I give the bag a good spray over every couple of months. For the areas of the bag which have a little bit more wear i.e. the straps I use something a little bit more heavy duty like some neutral shoe polish.
